About Us

WE OFFER  Three scholarship opportunities are available through Mu Chapter, Lambda State Kappa Kappa Iota. Two are specific to Mu Chapter's parent organization and one is specific to the National organization. The scholarships are:

1. Whelchel-Wootton Scholarship is awarded to a graduating high school senior or college student planning to enter the field of education. All applicants must be sponsored by the local chapter (Mu Chapter). One scholarship is presented statewide.  Download an application here.

2. Arienne Thrasher Scholarship is awarded to a member of Kappa Kappa Iota. Information about the scholarship is found here.

3. A grant is offered to educators WHO ARE NOT MEMBERS of Kappa Kappa Iota. This grant is awarded by the National organization. Information about this grant found here.

WE ARE

A community service oriented organization focused upon helping those who desire to be a part of the education profession as well as supporting organizations that serve citizens who are affected by domestic violence and those that assist children who are victims of abuse and neglect.

WE HAVE 56 YEARS of TRADITION

We chartered in Stockbridge, Georgia, June 1968 as a local chapter of the national non-profit organization Kappa Kappa Iota.

We are funded primarily from dues, fundraising activities, and donations.

       WE COLLECT

Teddy Bears and Children's Books for distribution to organizations that assist children who are victims of abuse, neglect, or both. Past recipients are: Christian City's Children's Village , Fayette County (GA) Sheriff's Department, Bloom, and Thornwell Children's Home (Clinton, SC)
